GORHAM STERLING SMALL TEAPOT DATED 1900, With WOOD HANDLE & FINIAL & HINGED LID
Sterling silver small teapot with hinged lid, and carved dark fine grained wooden handle and finial, and hand engraved in script on one face "SMT". The teapot weighs 7.5 troy ounces gross, and measures approximately 5 1/4 inches high to top of finial, and approximately 7 3/4 inches across from handle tip to spout tip, and 2 7/8 inches by 1 3/4 inches across the oval base. The harp form handle is cracked through and repaired with a pin inset from the outer face just below the cap knop (see our fourth photo) but remains quite functionally stable with a very slight play at the top and bottom pinning where it joins the mounts to the body.
There are tiny nicks and scratches above the ribbing on the body, several small shallow dings below and to the right of the monogram, and some grey spotting inside bottom of the pot, otherwise in good antique condition and cute as a bug.
