Antique William IV Sterling Silver 3-piece Tea Set - 1836/8 by Barnards. A beautiful antique William IV sterling silver 3-piece tea set hallmarked in London for 1836 and 1838 by Barnards. This three piece tea set consists of a teapot, cream jug and sugar basin.
The large plain teapot has a nicely shaped body, a hinged lid with a pretty flower finial on the top and resting on four decorative feet. The cream jug and sugar basin are also plain with the same shaped bodies and decorative feet and the interiors have been nicely gilded. This silver tea set would look impressive displayed on the table and would be perfect to use. It was made in London by the Barnard brothers and the cream jug and sugar basin are dated for 1836 and the teapot is dated for 1838. This three piece silver tea set was made to a very high standard and it has been well cared for over the years and it still remains in excellent condition.When taking photographs, it is difficult to eliminate the reflection on plain silver. Height of teapot: 16.30 cms (6.4). Height of cream jug: 12.00 cms (4.7). Height of sugar basin: 11.20 cms (4.4). Weight: 45 troy ounces (1,400 grams).
