MODERNIST 3-PIECE STERLING SILVER TEA SERVICE BY PETER LUNN. Hallmarked PML to each underside; circa 1979 Item # 011FRP21Z. A very fine sterling silver tea service by silversmith Peter Michael Lunn circa 1979, the exceptional workmanship is evident in the casting and finishing work throughout. A heavy and solid set, the surfaces are part textured with a magnificent hammered effect that draws lines in veins down and around the sides of each piece. The set was acquired in 2003 from Payne & Son Goldsmiths Limited in Oxford, England and has been held in a private collection since. Exquisite and visually magnetic, this is a very fine acquisition for the modern interior. Measurements: [teapot] 7 1/2" W x 6" D x 8 3/4" H; [creamer] 3 1/2" H x 3 1/4" D x 4 1/4" W; [sugar] 2 1/4" H x 3 5/8" D x 4 1/8 W.
