This listing is for very fine sterling silver tea & coffee service made in the Pointed Antique pattern in 1942. This pattern originated with Dominick and Haff and was continued by Reed & Barton when they acquired Dominick & Haff in 1928. Each piece in the set has a conjoined, 3 letter monogram "MHM" and the inside of the creamer and the waste bowl have a gold wash. All of the pieces except for the waste bowl are marked with the old Reed & Barton hallmark (two birds on either side of an R), Sterling, 1103/87 and V (for 1942). The waste bowl is marked with Dominick & Haff's hallmark, 1103/87.
Total weight of the entire set (excluding the kettle burner insert that is not silver) is 251.64 troy ounces. Coffee pot: 9 1/2 tall, 10 inches spout to handle, 3 pints 28.44 troy ounces. Tea pot: 8 1/2" tall, 9 3/4" spout to handle, 2 1/2 pints 25.48 troy ounces.Covered sugar bowl: 6 1/2" tall, 6 3/4" handle to handle 15.19 troy ounces. Very good condition with no dings or dents. The tray has some surface scratches from the other items being placed on it but the rest of the pieces show signs of very little use. All of the handles are tight and the insulators intact. All of the lids and hinges work perfectly. I polished this set a little while ago and it's been in storage so it could use a refresher polishing. The item "Vintage Reed & Barton Sterling Silver Tea & Coffee Set with SS Tray and Kettle" is in sale since Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
