This set was originally made in silverplate (and possibly some with nickel plating). This set is a vintage reissue of the design 30 years ago by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY. It is a rare STERLING SILVER version of the set. Each of the four pieces is sterling silver and has a cylindrical wood insert in the handle(s).Width measurements include the handles: Coffee pot 7 x 6.25 inches; teapot 5 x 6.25 inches; sugar bowl 3.75 x 6.5 inches; cream pitcher 2.625 x 6.25 inches. Total weight of the set is 1380 grams, or a little over 44 troy ounces.
Each item is marked "MMA 1988" with "Made in Italy" and "925". There is also an Italian silver guarantee mark on some of the pieces. Excellent condition with no dents, heavy scratches, splits or other metal issues. The wood handles are likewise in very fine shape.
