Antique Hallmarked Sterling Silver Batchelor's Four Hoof Footed Tea Set 1907
For your consideration a solid silver English hallmarked three piece'batchelor's' tea set that dates to the Edwardian era. It has a quatrefoil design and each piece stands on four hoofed feet. Please view the pictures above as they hopefully show all in detail. Shown with a size AAA battery for size comparison. TEAPOT - hallmarked with the lion denoting sterling silver, the Chester assay mark, the date letter'G' for 1907, and the makers mark'W&H' for Walker & Hall. Lion, date letter and makers marks are also stamped inside the lid. Weighs 339g (including wooden handle/finial). Measures 12 cms to the top of the finial and 21 cms from spout tip to end of handle. The hinge is nice and tight, lid fits perfectly. SUGAR BOWL - Hallmarks comprise the crown for Sheffield, the lion denoting sterling silver, the date letter'P' for 1907, and the Walker & Hall makers mark. Measures 6.5 cms to top of handles and 12.5 cms end of handle to end of handle. Some small dings/ wear and usual surface imperfections. CREAMER - Hallmarks as sugar bowl. Measures 5.5cms tall to top of handle and 10.8 cms from end of spout to end of handle. Usual minor imperfections as expected. The hoof legs have been slightly knocked out of perfect alignment but all three pieces stand fine; just with the slightest of movement.
